Anjanette Gonzales wrote to let us know that the community is invited to visit the Seattle Area German American (SAGA) School at an upcoming Kinderfasching and an open house at their German Library.

SAGA moved to Green Lake from the University Heights Community Center at the beginning of the school year. They are now located in the old John Marshall High School building (520 NE Ravenna Blvd).

On Sunday, March 6, 2011, 2-5 p.m., the school will be holding a costume party, called a “Kinderfasching,” in the John Marshall Auditorium. There will be music, games, drinks, and food. Attendees are invited to bring a cake or pie to share at a cake buffet, and children are encouraged to come in costume.

Admission for the party is $5 per person or $20 per family in advance, or $7 per person or $28 per family at the door. To reserve your ticket, email anita@sagaschool.org with your name and the number of attendees.

During the party, the school will also be holding a free open house at their German Library. The SAGA School has collected over 1,000 German adult and children’s books, DVDs, and CDs in their library, which is open to the public.

During the open house, you are invited to browse the collection, learn about opening hours, and check out items. For more details, contact library@sagaschool.org. The Library Open House is free.
