Irwin’s Neighborhood Bakery and Cafe is coming to Green Lake. Irwin’s office manager Cara tells us that the projected opening date is mid-April. Demo has already started, she says, “and we are psyched!” The bakery and cafe will be located at 301 NE 65th St, across the street from Latona Pub, Mona’s Bistro and Lounge, Cafe Lulu, and Krittika Noodles & Thai Cuisine. The location previously held PetDaddy, a self-serve dog wash and dog boutique. PetDaddy closed after a drunk driver crashed into its storefront. Love-themed guerrilla art installation at Green Lake Park
Five guerrilla art installations were temporarily installed at Green Lake Park this past weekend (February 12-13, 2011). The “h-Art Project” was created by Briar Bates, Leo Spizzirri, Jennifer Davis and Matthew Bollen. A photo collection documenting the creation of the pieces can be viewed here. Artist Matthew Bollen tells us that the pieces, which received a positive response at the park, were taken down on Monday. ”Love is fickle, you know,” he said. This is the second h-Art Project installation at Green Lake Park. You can view the 2010 installation here. Thanks for the tip, Jordan!
