On Friday morning (Feb. 25, 2011), a tree at the north end of Green Lake Park was hung with hearts and a photo of a young child.

The tree was decorated in memory of Noah Benjamin Bishop, a Green Lake resident who died one year ago.

“I spotted a mother and her two daughters decorating this tree.” writes Mike Veitenhans. “Since I had my camera, I started to take some photos, explaining I’m always on the lookout for interesting things to submit to the local blog, and asked what the occasion was. The mother, tearing up, informed me it was to honor the memory of her friends’ son, Noah, who died in a tragic accident. Upon learning this, I apologized for the intrusion, but she assured me that it was okay and encouraged me to share the photos.”

Thank you Mitch, Mike, and Doree.
