Greenlake Bar & Grill burglarized

What do you think? (3 Comments) December 20, 2010 at 11:50AM

The Greenlake Bar & Grill (7200 E Green Lake Drive N) was burglarized early Sunday morning (Dec. 19, 2010).

A glass door on the south side of the building was smashed in, and the thief or thieves attempted to disable the alarm system by cutting phone, cable, and DSL wires.  Televisions were stolen, along with several bottles of alcohol.

Staff were in good spirits during the Sunday morning brunch rush, despite having to deal with broken glass and the other effects of the break-in.  The cut wires meant that credit cards had to be processed manually — “the old-school way,” one employee told me, laughing — and repair people were coming in and out.

By Monday morning, phone lines, cable, and the internet were back up, credit cards were being processed normally, and it was expected that the door would be fixed by the afternoon.  The thief or thieves, however, had still not been caught.

If you know anything about the burglary of the Greenlake Bar & Grill, please call the Seattle Police Department’s North Precinct’s non-emergency line, (206) 625-5011, and select 8 from the menu.

And, if you want to support the Greenlake Bar & Grill, this holiday season would be a great time to stop by.  They will be open on Christmas Eve until 6 p.m.  On New Year’s Eve, the kitchen will be open until midnight, when there will be a champagne toast.  They will be open again on New Year’s Day.

Thanks for the tip, Jenna.

Thanks so much for the info, Ric. I’m sorry to hear that.

If anyone has information to share about those breakins, I would love to talk with you for a separate story.

      Thanks!
