Last summer, Tangletown’s Meridian Market closed its doors, leaving the storefront at 2201 N 56th St vacant.
Good news! Margaret over at Wallyhood reports that the space will soon have a new tenant: a grocery store called 56th Street Market.

OMG! I just peed my pants. Please tell me they are going to stick to the basics, like Pepsi Max, Fritos, Miller Lite, hot dogs, Snickers (etc.), cigarettes and rolling paper, and pesticide encrusted produce! Oh, and NO ORGANIC BABY FOOD (sorry Amy)!
When I have a grocery emergency, I throw caution out the window (but not my pocketbook). Wagyu beef and Leonetti is for planned, special occasions. Fritos and a can of chili is for now. No, I’m serious. Right now.

This is great news! I have one suggestion: call it the Keystone Market. It has a better ring to it than 56th St Market and it’s on the corner of Keystone.
