December 2010 in Green Lake

The month in review… Despite heavy rain, December brought crowds to Green Lake for the popular Pathway of Lights and to view a Tangletown home that was lit up with more than 30,000 lights.  There were also several New Year’s Eve celebrations in the neighborhood. There was an unusual amount of crime this past month in Green Lake. A man attempted to sexually assault an 89-year-old woman at Green Lake Park.  She fought her attacker off. Man calls 911 to report a stabbing at Green Lake Community Center, no victim found

From Casey McNerthney at seattlepi.com: Medics responded to the Green Lake Community Center Thursday afternoon after a man called 911 and said someone had been stabbed and was badly bleeding. But fire personnel walked around the building and found nothing, and staff there told authorities they didn’t know of any stabbing. After circling the Evans Pool building and the basketball court, responders went to the Bathhouse Theater in case the caller had the wrong location. Report of an attempted break-in on NE Ravenna Blvd
