The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, in effect until 10 p.m. tonight. The weather advisory indicates that we can expect 2-6 inches of snow, and that gusty winds could result in local power outages.
Weather expert Cliff Mass wrote in a blog post this morning that “the worst [of the area's snow fall] is in a narrow band over north Seattle.”
We have confirmed that the Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool are open, although classes after 6 p.m. are canceled. The community center is open for drop-in use until 9 p.m. All Seattle Parks and Recreation athletic fields are closed.
The Green Lake Library is scheduled to open at it’s regular opening time, 1 p.m.
Woodland Park Zoo will close early today, at 3:00 p.m.
King County Metro buses are on snow routes. Note in particular this information from Metro about Route 16:
Route 16 is not serving regular stops in the Greenlake area between N 45th St and N 80th St or eastbound on NE 100th St just west of 4 Av NE at Northgate. In the Green Lake area, use the stops north of N 80th St or south of N 45th St. Or use stops on Greenlake DR N along the reroute.

From Nancy: "My little kitty took ONE step out onto the back porch this morning. She turned right around and came back into the warm house, but left an adorable footprint behind."
