The annual Naked Pumpkin Run is returning to Fremont and Green Lake this Halloween. Robeks Smoothies coming to Green Lake in February or March
We first got word back in May that a Robeks Smoothies is coming to our neighborhood. Business owner Lori Nye updated us yesterday (Oct. 26, 2010). The permits have been submitted, she said, and she expects that the shop’s doors will be open by the end of February or the first part of March. The smoothie shop will be located in the Circa Green Lake building, right next door to Turnpike Pizza (6900 E Green Lake Way N). Rebuilding Together Seattle visits Green Lake
Last Saturday (Oct. 23, 2010), Rebuilding Together Seattle (RTS) was in the Green Lake neighborhood. RTS completes free home repairs for low income homeowners who are elderly, disabled, veterans, or families with children, so that they can continue to live independently in warmth and safety. Move of offices into Green Lake Community Center described as “permanent”
As we have reported previously, Mayor McGinn’s proposed 2011-2012 city budget would transform the Green Lake Community Center into a “Limited-Use” site. Offices would be moved to the top floor of the Green Lake Community Center, displacing many classes and programs. However, until now, we have not heard it said that this change would be permanent.
