The City of Seattle is facing a $67 million general fund deficit for 2011.
As the Seattle City Council works to balance the city’s 2011-2012 budget, they are seeking input from residents to develop a budget that “best reflects the needs of our city.”
Would you like to participate in this year’s budget process? Here’s how:
* Visit the City Council’s new Ideascale page. Use the site to share, comment and vote for ideas on how to balance the budget. The City Council promises to continuously review this feedback and respond to the most popular ideas.
* Submit your thoughts about the budget using the City Council’s online comment form. Emails received via the form are tallied and shared with each Councilmember.
* Attend one of three public hearings this fall in north, south or central Seattle. The meeting closest to our neck of the woods will be on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Northgate Community Center Gym (10510 5th Ave NE). Sign-in begins at 5 p.m. and the public hearing starts at 5:30 p.m.
