The Light the Night Walk returns to Green Lake Park this Saturday (Sept. 25th, 2010).
The yearly event is a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Walkers carry illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.
A remembrance ceremony begins at 5 p.m., followed by food and festivities at 5:30 p.m. The walk starts near the Green Lake Community Center (7201 E Green Lake Dr N) at 7 p.m.
Shuttle service will be provided to and from the Green Lake Park & Ride (6601 8th Ave NE), the Aqua Theater on the west side of Green Lake, and the Bathhouse Theater (7312 West Green Lake Dr N). Shuttle service begins at 4:30 p.m. from each location. The last returning shuttle leaves at 9:15 p.m.
