The Aflac Iron Girl Women’s 10K/ 5K Run and Walk is being held at Green Lake Park this Sunday (September 12, 2010). The race starts at 8 a.m. and the awards ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
Online registration closes tonight (Wednesday, September 8) at 11:59 p.m. You can also register at the event’s expo on Saturday (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.) or before the race on Sunday (6 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.). Seattle Athletic Club members receive a $10 discount on race registration with a code provided by the club.
Parking will likely be challenging. Event organizers recommend that participants arrive at least 75 minutes before the start of the race. A map displaying the course, as well as recommended areas in the neighborhood for street parking, is available here.
King County Metro reports that Route 48 will be rerouted between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The E Green Lake Drive N stops will be closed. Riders are asked to use the stops on 1st Ave NE and Woodlawn Ave NE.
