On Monday (Sept. 27, 2010), Mayor Mike McGinn presented his budget recommendations to Seattle City Council. McGinn proposed that, beginning in January 2011, the Green Lake Community Center (7201 E Green Lake Dr N) operate under “Limited-Use Status” with reduced operating hours and staff. Green Lake Elementary School to celebrate new native garden this Saturday
Green Lake Elementary School is hosting a party to celebrate the grand opening of school’s Olallie Native Garden. The party will be this Saturday (October 2, 2010), 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., at Green Lake Elementary School (2400 N 65th St). There will be food, coffee and juice, garden tours. Music will be provided by Steve Hansen, Angela Blemker, and the Northwest Junior Pipe Band. Included in his recommendations was the suggestion that, beginning in January 2011, the Green Lake Community Center (7201 E Green Lake Dr N) operate under “Limited-Use Status” with reduced operating hours and six less FTE staff. Man seen filming women "below the waist" as they walk the Green Lake loop
A local woman has asked us to warn other women who walk at Green Lake Park about some strange behavior she witnessed there last week. Last Wednesday morning (Sept. 22, 2010) at around 11 a.m., Jeni, who asked us to not use her last name, was walking around the Green Lake loop.
