Singles and couples are welcome to register.  “The classes are a wonderful way to meet people,” says Lilli Ann.  “Folks with two left feet are welcome!”

There are 2-for-1 and half-price discounts for new dancers.  Register at danceforjoy.biz.

9/13-10/11 (5 Mondays)
7-8pm- Beginning Slow Waltz Essentials A
Waltz is a beautiful romantic music and dance. Some say they dance a style of dance for the dance, some say they dance for the music — Waltzers dance for both. Each class session “A & B”, will start with the basics and then develop along two separate tracks of moves that you will see on any social waltz floor in Seattle — teaching fundamentals, grace, leading and following.
Prerequisite: None.

9/8- 10/13 (6 Wednesdays)
7:00-8:00 pm- Beginning East Coast Swing A
Starting from scratch, learn the basics of Six-count Swing through the beginning movements of Lindy Hop. We focus on great connection, natural movement, and technique that will have you dancing after the first class. All the Six-count moves you learn here will translate into the Eight-count Lindy Hop basic, and you’ll be hopping and swinging before you know it! Swing 1A and 1B will both cover the basics before moving on to different material.
Prerequisite: None.

9/8- 10/13 (6 Wednesdays)
8:15- 9:15 pm- Beginning Lindy Hop A

Lindy Hop was the king of the swing in the 1930′s and 1940′s, and you can learn it in it’s authentic form! Use the foundation of moves and style you learned from six count, and put them into this exciting and playful eight count basic. We’ll teach you to feel confident with the structure of the dance, while learning to play with breaks, hops, and styling. T’aint what you do, it’s the way that you do it! Lindy Hop 1A and 1B will both cover the basics before moving on to different material.
Prerequisite: Swing 1: East Coast Swing A & B or instructor permission.
