This Saturday morning (August 21, 2010), Green Lake’s Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club (SCKC) will be loading boats for their yearly trip to the USA Canoe/Kayak Sprint National Championships. The Nationals will be in Oklahoma City August 26-29.
Christine Treece, a parent of one of the paddlers, told us “they’ve got a strong team this year and everyone is really excited about making the trip.” Christine says that the community is encouraged to stop by on Saturday morning to meet the competitors and wish them luck.
The boat loading will take place by the Green Lake Small Craft Center (5900 W Green Lake Way N) from 7:30 a.m. to about 1 p.m.
