House fire in Tangletown

What do you think? (4 Comments) August 23, 2010 at 9:11AM

At 8:48 a.m. this morning (Monday, August 23, 2010), fourteen emergency response units were called to a fire at 2353 N 57th St.

While initial scanner chatter indicated that the house may be abandoned and that the fire was a “furnace backfire,” later reports indicated that the house may be occupied.

Streets around the scene were closed to traffic following the fire.

Firefighters were packing up by 9:10 a.m., and by 9:15 a.m., all units except for one were called away from the scene.

Thanks for the tip, Silver!

Thanks for such a quick posting on this! I passed by the fire trucks as I was taking my son to preschool and wondered/worried about what was happening (it’s only a block from my house). I hope that no one was injured!

I wonder if this has anything to do with our tap water going brown around that time. I live on 57th as well.
