The Pigs Peace Sanctuary is holding its annual Walk for the Animals at Green Lake Park on Saturday, September 4, 2010. Check-in begins at 10:15 a.m. and the walk starts at 11 a.m.
100% of registration fees ($15) and walker sponsorships go to Pigs Peace Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe home for unwanted, abused or neglected animals in need. Prizes will be awarded to the walkers that earn the most money in pledges for the sanctuary. The team that earns the most pledges will also win a special prize.
Snacks will be provided, and there will be entertainment by guitarists Alek Vila and Marty Ofsowitz.
