Even summer isn’t supposed to be this lazy. Each morning, I head into the garden, revved up to work. I deadhead a few calendulas and alyssum (usually with my fist, as I’ve forgotten my pruners as usual.) Green Lake's Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club to compete in USA Canoe/Kayak Nationals
This Saturday morning (August 21, 2010), Green Lake’s Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club (SCKC) will be loading boats for their yearly trip to the USA Canoe/Kayak Sprint National Championships. The Nationals will be in Oklahoma City August 26-29. Green Lake kids invited to tryout for Pony Olympic baseball team
Rich Selenis from the North Seattle Baseball Association (NSBA) asked us to get the word out to local kids and parents about upcoming tryouts for a competitive Pony Olympic team. The team will compete at the highest level with other teams in the region through play in Pony league games and summer tournaments. Players are eligible if they are 13 years old (or younger) on April 30, 2011. This year’s Seattle CROP Hunger Walk at Green Lake will be October 3, 2010. Registration begins at 1 p.m. at the Green Lake United Methodist Church (6415 1st Ave NE). At 1:30 p.m., walkers will leave the church and head down the street to the 2.8 mile Green Lake loop.
