My Green Lake reader Karl wrote to us with a question about the I-5 off-ramp at Exit 170 (NE Ravenna Blvd).
Karl uses the off-ramp daily and has recently noticed that a police officer is there every day, directing traffic. He wondered: “Are there any plans for a traffic signal?”
We put this question to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) and learned that there are not currently any plans to install a traffic light at this intersection. The police officer that Karl has seen was stationed there to assist with detoured traffic from the NE 45th Street Viaduct Project.
The NE 45th Street Viaduct will be closed until September 10, 2010.
