My Green Lake tipster David Peterman wrote to us yesterday about the BECU ATM which was, until recently, located next to the Green Lake Peet’s Coffee and Tea (6850 E Green Lake Way N).
The ATM is now gone and the area is covered with plywood.
“Being a BECU member,” David says, “this was my ATM of choice, since there were no transaction fees.” David is not alone, as this ATM serviced many in the neighborhood who use credit unions that participate in the CO-OP ATM Network.
David contacted BECU (thanks, David!) and got this reply: “Unfortunately, the property owner opted not to renew our lease. We are searching for new locations, but one has not been selected as of now.”
We’ll be sure to share the news if we see a new BECU ATM in the neighborhood. In the meantime, the two closest surcharge-free ATMs for credit union customers are at the west Green Lake 7-Eleven (7314 Aurora Ave N) and the Wallingford 7-Eleven (101 NE 50th).
Update, Saturday, August 7: Thanks to commenter Amazon_boy for pointing out another option: the Alaska Credit Union ATM inside the Roosevelt Safeway (7300 Roosevelt Way NE) is also a part of the CO-OP ATM Network.
See something of interest in the neighborhood? Drop us a line.
