The Seattle Area German American (SAGA) School, currently located at the University Heights Community Center (5031 University Way NE), will be moving to Green Lake in the fall.
SAGA will be joining Northwest Girlchoir in the old John Marshall High School building (520 NE Ravenna Blvd). The location will also temporarily house Fire Station 16 next year.
SAGA provides German immersion preschool and kindergarten programs for children aged 30 months through 5 years old. They may also be offering first grade beginning this fall. A few spaces are still left in fall programs.
Teachers are native German speakers from Germany and Switzerland. Children learn German through play, song, art and everyday activities. Students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some are from homes where both parents are native German speakers, some with one parent and some with no prior German experience.
SAGA will also offer German programs to the community and the school promises to bring an authentic Oktoberfest to Green Lake this fall.
Welcome to Green Lake, SAGA!
