A new art show is up at the office of Green Lake dentist Dr. Shokofeh Tabaraie. In May, Dr. Tabaraie opened up Lakeside Dental Center as a space for local artists to show their work. A new artist is featured every month in the dental office, which is located at 7900 E. Green Lake Dr. N., right above Zeeks Pizza and BluWater Bistro. The work of artist Megan Myers is currently on display. Here’s a taste of some of her art: Are you a local artist looking for somewhere to show your work? Green Lake residents express concerns over homeless shelter
There was a tense community meeting last night (Wednesday, July 14, 2010) at Green Lake’s Bethany Lutheran Church (7400 Woodlawn Ave NE). Members of the church congregation and residents of the surrounding neighborhood came together to hear from eight men representing SHARE (Seattle Housing and Resource Effort). Green Lake’s newest restaurant, Mykonos Greek Grill, will be opening soon at 310 NE 72nd St. The space was previously occupied by My Friends Cafe. You can reach the restaurant at 206-523-8929. Welcome to Green Lake, Taki, Bob Kokkovas, and the rest of the Mykonos team!

View Larger Map Yesterday, we confirmed that La Escuelita Bilingual School, a dual-language (English and Spanish) early childcare center, is relocating to the Pacific Color Lab building. The school plans to occupy their new space in January 2011, based on estimated permitting and construction time. School admission information can be found here. Welcome to the neighborhood, La Escuelita!
