'Underdog' softball and kickball coming to Lower Woodland Park

Registration begins next Wednesday (July 28, 2010) for all Underdog Sports Leagues fall leagues. This fall, Underdog Sports Leagues will be playing softball and kickball Monday through Thursday at the Lower Woodland Park play fields.  The regular season is six weeks long, followed by playoffs for qualifying teams.  (Note: registration has already begun for softball and kickball leagues) Register your own team or sign up as an individual or small group and be placed with other individuals into teams. Dim sum restaurant opening this weekend at Stone Way and N 49th

Our sister site My Wallingford is reporting that Chinese restaurant Bamboo Village is opening this weekend at Stone Way and N 49th St, just south of Woodland Park.  The restaurant will serve dim sum every day. Owner Po Lee told us that the restaurant, at the corner of Stone Way and N. 49th St., will be open for business for dinner on Saturday, July 24. Now open: 'the green lake florist'

Green Lake’s new flower shop has opened its doors! The shop is located at 7212 Woodlawn Ave NE, between Rosita’s Mexican Grill and Mockingbird Books.  Although the sign in the window currently reads “green lake city florist,” the official name is “the green lake florist” (the name is spelled using lower-case letters). The shop’s storefront was previously occupied by Billings Middle School.  The school, which is primarily located across the street, used the space as an auxiliary computer lab.
