The Seattle Police Department has announced the dates of two big summer events: Picnic at the Precinct and Seattle Night Out. Earlier this year, we brought you this story about Green Lake’s four bomb shelters. The biggest, under I-5 at Weedin Place NE, has gotten some attention in the press lately. Art shows come to Lakeside Dental Center
Green Lake dentist Dr. Shokofeh Tabaraie of Lakeside Dental Center asked us to share some exciting news with the neighborhood: her office is now open as a space for local artists to show their work. Dr. Tabaraie plans to show a new artist every month in the dental office, which is located at 7900 E. Green Lake Dr. N., right above Zeeks Pizza and BluWater Bistro. Bishop Blanchet students exercise their right to free speech on Green Lake Drive
Driving down E Green Lake Drive N today (May 12, 2010) around noon, it was hard to miss about a dozen teenagers holding signs with various political messages: “No Sin Tax” “No State Income Tax” “Vote! Even Paris Hilton Can Do It” “Protect America, Stop Arizona” “War is a Failure of Politics” “There are no Dinosaurs in The Bible. Teach Creation in our Schools!” The kids were getting a great response from passing traffic, including many beeps and honks of agreement. Wondering what this was all about?
