A proposal for Green Lake's Big Hole: A temporary farmers and artists market

Many Green Lake residents have a lot to say about the large crater at the site of the old Vitamilk Dairy, a.k.a. “The Big Hole.” Recently, the City of Seattle’s Department of Planning and Development gave Seattle citizens the opportunity to present ideas for interim uses for the city’s stalled project sites. Wallingford liquor store to open on Friday

From our neighbors to the south, Wallyhood: Our long, dry year is almost over. On March 21, 2009, the Wallingford liquor store rolled the last case of hooch out the front door and turned the keys over to Archie McPhee. Four hundred and thirty-three days later, on Friday, May 28, 2010, the store is scheduled to re-open in the shell vacated by Hollywood Video, at 118 N.E. 45th St just across from Dick’s. Hours will be 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Mon – Thu, and 10 a.m. -  9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool will be closed on Friday and Monday

The Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool (7201 E Green Lake Drive N) will be closed on Friday (May 28, 2010) and Monday (May 31, 2010). Friday will be a Parks and Rec furlough day and Monday is Memorial Day. From Seattle Parks and Recreation: City of Seattle employees are taking 10 days off without pay in 2010 to help fill the budget gap. Black cat lost in Tangletown: Have you seen Ryno?

Yesterday, we noticed a sad posting over in the My Green Lake forums: a black cat has gone missing in the Tangletown area. It is a black cat named Ryno that ran off during the heavy rain on Friday evening [May 21, 2010] near TangleTown restaurant (5500 block of Kenwood Pl. N).
