The Green Lake Green Thumbs, a group affiliated with Sustainable Green Lake, has launched a new campaign: Edible Neighborhoods.
The goal of the campaign is
to empower everyone in Seattle and everywhere else to take the first steps toward turning our communities into better wildlife corridors and resources for healthy, home-grown foods. [ ... ] We work to improve our neighborhood’s role as a functioning, healthy ecosystem where humans and wildlife mutually thrive. We support and inspire the community to engage in projects that restore and enhance ecological function to meet human and wildlife needs.

Edible Neighborhoods is a small new website offering basic suggestions for adding edible and Pacific Northwest native plants to your garden. The recommended plants have been selected for ease of growing in the Puget Sound area, regardless of soil building or gardening skills.
