Child's bike found on west side of Green Lake

Anne sent us this picture at 8:15 tonight (Sunday, May 30, 2010) with the following note: My husband was just now jogging the lake – he saw this bike ditched by the water on the Aurora side. He said a few folks were looking around for a family or small child that it might belong too – but no luck. Who knows how long it will be there, but maybe some little girl wants her bike back. Do you know who this bike belongs to?

"Dangerous Dan," karaoke host, explains his decision to leave Green Lake's Little Red Hen

It’s the end of an era at Little Red Hen (7115 Woodlawn Ave NE).  Dan McKay, host of a popular karaoke night at the historic Green Lake country bar, has announced that he is stepping down. 2010 Ted Houk Memorial Regatta

Green Lake will be the center of the paddling universe next weekend (June 5-6, 2010) for the 31st Annual Ted Houk Memorial Regatta, hosted by the Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club (SCKC). “This is one of the premier regattas in the country and the largest on the West coast,” said SCKC Sprint Team coach Aasim Saleh. Aside from the contingent from Seattle, Rento and Gig Harbor, athletes of all ages from British Columbia, Alberta, and Hawaii are aiming for top honors in Olympic-style flat water kayak and canoeing. Billings Middle School invites you to celebrate the new "Steps to Green Lake"

Billings Middle School (7217 Woodlawn Ave N) is hosting a community event on Sunday, June 6, 2010, 4-6 p.m. The event is a dedication ceremony for the school’s new “Steps to Green Lake.”  There will be music by The Shed Boys, refreshments, campus tours, and presentations by Board Chair Art Vertner, Head of School Ted Kalmus, and two alumni students.
