There will be a memorial service on Saturday, April 24, 2010 for long-time Green Lake resident Maybeth Pressley. The service will be held at 2 p.m. at Green Lake United Methodist Church, a.k.a. “the castle” (6415 1st Ave NE, across the street from Green Lake Elementary School). Mrs. Pressley lived in the Green Lake neighborhood for over 80 years. Her home at 6509 Sunnyside Ave N is currently on the market. Coming to Aurora: Mexican grocery store and barber shop
Aurora|Seattle reported today on two new businesses coming to Aurora Avenue North, just west of Green Lake. A barber shop will soon be located at 7615 Aurora Ave N, in the space that recently held the “Awake to a New Aurora” mural, and rumor has it that a Mexican grocery store will be going in at 7811 Aurora Ave N, site of the former Sweet Spot Cafe.

Jogger attacked at Green Lake Park
SeattleCrime.com is reporting that a woman was attacked at 10 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Green Lake Park. According to a police report, a man grabbed her and tried to force her off the running trail. The woman was running south on the Greenlake trail near the stadium at the south end of the lake at about 10:00am on April 11th, when she was a man walking towards her.
