A busy weekend in Green Lake

This upcoming weekend (Friday, April 23 – Sunday, April 25, 2010) is going to be a busy one in the Green Lake neighborhood. Friday: Friday night is opening night of Seattle Public Theater’s Youth Theater Program’s production of “Room Service.”  The performance is free and runs through May 1. Register now for a $5 Kids' Fish-In event at Green Lake Park

Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Go Play Outside Alliance of Washington will hold a Kids’ Fish-In event at Green Lake Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010. Up to 500 kids will cast their lines into the water and go home with a rod and reel, and – probably – a fish – or two for a $5 registration fee. Man assaulted last night in west Green Lake

A homeless man was assaulted last night (Wednesday, April 21, 2010) in west Green Lake. The police were initially called to W Green Lake Way N and Aurora Ave N.  The man was found was found at Woodland Pl N & N 63rd St, under the Aurora Avenue N overpass that features a brightly-painted mural of zoo animals.
