Yikes. A headline on SeattleCrime.com this morning asks: WTF, Greenlake? Unfortunately, there has been another violent incident at Green Lake Park. Big changes at Cafe Lulu: Wi-Fi, lunch, and longer hours
Excellent news, east Green Lakers! Beloved coffee shop Cafe Lulu, a fixture at 6417 Latona Ave NE since 1996, is undergoing some changes for the better. Free Wi-Fi is now available to Cafe Lulu patrons and, come late May, there will be a major seating renovation to better facilitate laptop use. Long-time patrons of the coffee shop shouldn’t worry, though. Owner Karen Laurie promises that the cafe will retain its community feel. A charming little nugget of local history was recently found by Pastor Lisa Anthony in the archives of the Green Lake United Methodist Church (6415 1st Ave NE). Mrs. Chloe Hackett Bunch Goes to Church, which was written on the 30th anniversary of the church in 1933, is available in its entirety on Lisa’s blog.
