2010 Cinco de Mayo block party at Green Lake Tacos Guaymas

A Cinco de Mayo party is once again coming to the Green Lake Tacos Guaymas (6808 E Green Lake Way N).

The party takes up the entire block on 2nd Ave NE between E Green Lake Way N and Woodlawn Ave NE.

There will be a jalapeño-eating contest, a beer garden, Sauza Girls, and live music featuring Jalapeño Rock, Grupo Ashé, and DJ Carlitos.

The block party will run from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. You must be 21 or older to attend.

I used to go to Tacos Guaymas when they had just one tiny part of the building. As they've grown and made more money their politics have changed. Now, they are closed for Cinco de Primo (May 1st) honoring a communist workers holiday. They even put a sign on their door saying so. But then a few days later, in an effort to make money in a capitalist country, they are open celebrating a made-up holiday that isn't even honored in Mexico.
