Swimmers and volunteers sought for Green Lake Open Water Swim

This year’s Green Lake Open Water Swim (GLOWS) will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010.

Through Wednesday, June 23, register for the ½-mile straight course here and the 1-mile oval course here, or print out a mail-in registration form [PDF].

After June 23, you must register on the day of the race in the Evans Pool/Green Lake Community Center Lobby (7201 E Green Lake Dr N), between 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Through June 20, registration is $20 for youth and special populations and $25 for adults.  After June 20, the cost is $35 for youth and special populations and $40 for adults.

All participants receive a commemorative t-shirt and cap.  There will be prizes for the top male and female in age group categories.

A new timing company will be used this year.  Unlike in years past, the results will be posted almost immediately.

Race Day Information

  • Check-in stations open at 7:30 a.m.
  • ½ Mile Swim begins at 9 a.m. from West Green Lake Beach
  • Mile Swim begins at approx. 9:30 a.m., after the ½ Mile Swim is finished.  The mile swim begins and ends at East Green Lake Beach
  • Awards program follows the Mile Swim
  • Shuttle vans to Green Lake West Beach for ½ mile swim start at 7:45 am.
  • Lockers for storage available for .25 in the pool locker rooms
