Who knew? There are clams in Green Lake!

Could it be true – clams in Green Lake? We received the following query in our Tips Inbox from a My Green Lake reader: Found this “clam” shell on the lawn near Evans Pool the morning of 3/16/2010. How did it get there? Does Greenlake have any shellfish? Seagull-transport? Green Lake Elementary's Olallie Native Plant and Wildlife Sanctuary

Angela Blemker, author of the local education blog Teach Dirty, wrote to us with some exciting news: the Green Lake Garden Club and Green Lake Elementary School PTA have received a Small and Simple Award from the Neighborhood Matching Funds program. Seattle teens invited to Billings Middle School's Summer Program

Billings Middle School, located in east Green Lake at 7217 Woodlawn Ave NE, invites all kids entering grades 5-9 to Billings Summer.
