Green Lake Community Preparedness Week is in the works

What do you think? (No Comments) March 11, 2010 at 1:34PM

We received the following information about Green Lake Community Preparedness Week from Paul Kostek, Co-Secretary of the Green Lake Community Council.

The date of the Community Preparedness Week is still to be determined.   We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as the event takes shape.

Green Lake Community Council, in partnership with the Seattle Office of Emergency Management, is planning a Preparedness Week. We’re just starting the planning and welcome volunteers.

Communication Hubs are being identified as emergency community gathering sites in case a major disaster occurs that makes it impossible to get information and help in the usual ways.

Our goal is to build individual capacity, connect block level efforts, and respond as a self reliant community during the period when limited resources may be un-available.

If we can prepare and respond together, ultimately our community will be more resilient and able to recover more quickly.
