Schools First Rally at Green Lake this Saturday at noon

Expect to see lots of crowds at Green Lake this Saturday, February 6th, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

A rally is being organized by Schools First, a campaign organization that works to help pass Seattle School levies.  Schools First invites all to “come be a part of this ‘Gathering of the Schools’ to help pass the Seattle School Levies.”

The rally will be led by high school students will feature a student music program.  It will held at the Green Lake Small Craft Center, a.k.a the Green Lake Boat House, (5900 W Green Lake Way N) and will be followed by a walk around the lake.

Seattle Public Schools (SPS) has two replacement levy measures on the February 9, 2010, ballot – an Operations Levy and a Capital Levy. For detailed information about both levies, please refer to our Levy Information brochure.

Whether or not you support the levies, it’s worth noting a few points from Schools First:

1. This is an all-mail election, and ballots MUST be postmarked by February 9 to be counted.

2. Post offices will close at regular hours.

3. Only two drop boxes will be open.
