Buzz growing about new Green Lake wine bar and shop

We’ve got a bit more information about that new wine bar and wine shop coming soon to Green Lake Pointe Apartments, a couple of blocks east of Aurora at 1400 N 80th St.

From Wine Outlet’s Facebook page:

We will be opening a new wine store very soon (that’s as close to an opening date as we can commit to). The new store is located near Green Lake on 80th near Duke’s and will be called Green Lake Wines. It will be a comparatively small store meant to service the Green Lake/Greenwood neighborhoods and it will have a small wine bar. Yes, there will be a grand opening party.

We also got word (directly from the Wine Outlet), that the bar/shop will be called Greenlake Wines and Wine Bar.

Regardless of the name, we can’t wait for this shop to open – and for the grand opening party!  We’ll keep you updated.

    Good! The shop in Maple Leaf always has such a thin selection, and I've never really had that great of service at Mccarthy & Scheering. If they can provide good service, they will do very well indeed!

    I noticed the post on Wine Outlet's Facebook page, were you at the grand opening party, Amy? How was it? I'd live to visit their wine cellars and sip some of their famous Chardonnay.

    Nope, I didn't make it to the party, unfortunately! I have dropped by on a non-party day though, and I loved the space (and the very charming owner, Richard).

    I recommend taking a look! They have wine tastings every Thursday evening, so that may be a good time to go. :)
