What films are your Green Lake neighbors watching?

What do you think? (5 Comments) January 10, 2010 at 10:52PM

There’s a great post over on Lake City Live about a new NYT interactive feature: a map that illustrates Netflix rental patterns by zip code.

It’s a bit hard to pinpoint Green Lakers using data that is broken down by zip code, as Green Lake straddles both 98103 and 98115.  Most of the neighborhood is in 98103, but everything east of 1st Ave NE is in 98115.

However, the 98103 and 98115 Netflix rental lists for 2009 don’t vary too significantly:

Most Rented in 98103

  1. Milk
  2. Slumdog Millionaire
  3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
  4. Burn After Reading
  5. Rachael Getting Married
  6. The Wrestler
  7. Doubt
  8. Twilight
  9. Gran Torino
  10. Changeling
Most Rented in 98115

  1. Milk
  2. Slumdog Millionaire
  3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
  4. Doubt
  5. Burn After Reading
  6. Rachael Getting Married
  7. Changeling
  8. Gran Torino
  9. The Wrestler
  10. The Reader

Any hypotheses as to why West Green Lake would be showing so much more love to Twilight than East Green Lake?

Because we're more cynical about tweenage vampire romance? ;)

…East side is soooo going to last longer in the zombie apocalypse! Trust no undead! No matter how dreamy they may look!

I guess I should see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button seeing as it made the top 3 for 98103, 98115, and 98125 (lake city). Although, Twilight's made the top 10 list and I have no intention of watching it.
