It’s New York, 1919–a bubble in time after a horrible war and before a financial crash. Young publisher John Pace Seavering, eager to make his mark upon the world, has to choose between publishing the work of a friend or a lover. The trajectory of their lives lies in the balance of his choice. When a mysterious machine appears, Seavering must decide if the future is pre-written and unchangeable, or if he has the power–and the responsibility–to shape what is to come.
