We received the following note from Kathleen Ellsbury of the Friends of McDonald School:
In mid-January through February 6 Friends of McDonald School volunteers will collect funds from neighbors who pledged their support. FOM is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. These funds will supplement a $13,000 grant from King County Youth Sports Facilities Grants and $15,000 from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Matching Funds program.
FOM will be working closely with both community members and the School District (including the newly appointed principal, Cheryl Grinager) to choose playfield enhancements.
FOM will hold a series of community workshops, all from 7-9 pm, Green Lake Elementary Library, to plan playfield enhancements:

Apr. 27FOM hopes to install the improvements June 26-27, and to hold a community celebration July 17.
