From Pennie O’Grady, news of Sustainable Green Lake‘s January 19th meeting:

January 19: Growing Food, Growing the Neighborhood

It’s not too soon to be planning for 2010, getting out your new calendars and putting Sustainable Green Lake’s 3rd Tuesdays into yours! The January 19 Gathering is shaping up to be an exciting affair, “Growing Food, Growing the Neighborhood.” There continues to be strong interest in growing food close to home, and in January we will be looking at ways we are coming together to do that and more. Come to get inspired and maybe even jump on board! Presenters confirmed so far are Katherine Ransel of SGL Green Thumbs, Jenny Pell, permaculture designer and trainer, Kathleen Warren, Urban Garden Share member, and someone from Green Lake School talking about the Olallie Garden Project–all members of SGL! Get involved, make plans and connections.

We will be gathering at Bethany Community Church (80th & Stone Ave N at GL Dr N), with a 6:30 potluck (bring your dinnerware and some food to share) and the presentations begin at 7pm. We encourage you to arrive by foot, bike or bus if you can.
