The Green Lake Green Thumbs, a new community group focused on growing edibles, will be holding it’s next meeting Wednesday, January 6 at 6 p.m.

The group is open to all who are interested in food gardening.  Pennie O’Grady, the group’s founder, describes the group as place that neighbors can “meet and talk together in an enthusiastic way, swap seeds and stories, and generally concoct co-learning opportunities with plants and dirt.”

From Pennie:

Current projects that are moving ahead with traction: Katherine Ransel is convening a group of people interested in getting perennial food growing at Green Lake Park. Contact her at kransel@gmail.com if you want to know more. Elise Koncsek is creating a site for people who are newbies provisionally entitled Edible Neighborhoods. She’d like input if you have any to offer. You can contact her at eliselk@gmail.com.

If you would like to get involved in the Green Lake Green Thumbs, contact Pennie at pennielink@mac.com.
