Apply for a grant for a Green-Lake-based project through the Neighborhood Matching Fund

We recently received word from Lois Maag, from The City of Seattle, about the Neighborhood Matching Fund, a partnership of community groups and Seattle Department of Neighborhoods: The program provides awards up to $100,000 for neighborhood-based projects, helping to fund everything from park improvements to cultural centers. New online application forms, streamlined guidelines and increased awards are among changes for 2010 funding applications. Share your thoughts on the Green Lake Skatepark

A little while ago at a Green Lake Community Council meeting, there was a casual discussion about the Green Lake Skatepark, a 17,000 sq. foot skateboard park in Lower Woodland Park.  The general consensus was that, although many Green Lake residents had some trepidation going into the project, the skatepark has been a positive addition to the neighborhood since its opening day in June 2008. Welcome to a brand-new column on MyGreenLake.com — The Green Lake Archives. Kids get in free at Woodland Park Zoo during winter break

Beginning this Saturday, December 19th, and through Sunday, January 3rd, Woodland Park Zoo is offering free admission to the zoo for kids.
