Green Lake milfoil cleanup this Saturday

What do you think? (No Comments) December 16, 2009 at 11:11PM

The Friends of Green Lake are holding a milfoil cleanup this Saturday, December 19th, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Rotting milfoil provides nutrients for algae blooms and reduces oxygen in the water.

Volunteers will meet at the dock near the Boat Rental (pedal boats) at the NE corner of the lake, near Green Lake Community Center (across the street from the Green Lake Library). A representative of the Seattle Parks Department will be there to help, and the department will provide tools, boots and gloves for the project. Volunteers may want to bring their own gloves, rubber boots, or hip waders if they have them, and drinking water.
