Car prowl reported at Canfield Pl N & Wallingford Ave N

What do you think? (5 Comments) December 22, 2009 at 9:05PM

Thank you, Deborah, for sharing the following information with us:

I just wanted to let you know we experienced the car prowl on Friday, December 18th in the early morning at Canfield and Wallingford N. I left my car unlocked so it wasn’t broken into, but it was ransacked. Thankfully they didn’t find anything of interest but it was a bit unsettling to find things strewn about the car and the glove compartment open and rifled through.

I wonder can we contact the north precinct and ask them to step up the patrolling in our neighborhood. I almost never see a police car around here.

If you would like to follow up on Deborah’s suggestion to contact the North Precinct, here’s some contact information:

Well, I am the director of Green Lake Preschool and we had about nine cars broken into over the course of two months…(recently, September, October) when I called the north precinct they stated that Green Lake has the highest car prowl activity in the city, I felt they were very cavalier about the whole thing. I did give everyone the sergent in charges telephone number out to our families. We got an officer to sit at the cross street for a while as a result. My only suggestion is to be the “squeaky wheel.”
