Meeting about basic education advocacy on Thursday at the Green Lake Library

What do you think? (4 Comments) December 7, 2009 at 9:59PM

We received the following notice from Lisa Hofferber:

Let’s join together and speak up for our kid’s education

Our children are depending on us to do all that we can to improve the quality of their education. The Washington State Legislature will be debating basic education for our children in January. Will you join other Green Lake parents, teachers and community members as we use our voices together in asking for quality education for our children?

Learn more at an informational meeting on Thursday December 10th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Green Lake Public Library in the meeting room.

By simply working together, we can use our collective voices to speak up on behalf of our children and demand the best educational system possible.

If you have any questions and to RSVP, email Lisa Hofferber at lisa-chris [at] comcast [dot] net or 206-527-3135. Children are welcome, but childcare is not provided.

ad a fantastic experience at the 2009 Banff International Jazz Workshop, and it appears from the recent flurry of blog posts from participants that this feeling is nearly universal. In fact, the three years I’ve been at Banff, it’s hard to think of any faculty or participants that I’ve spoken with who didn’t feel that their time in the mountains was an inspiring period of musical growth. Surely the crisp Canadian air and high-quality catering cannot fully explain this phenomenon. What makes the Banff program so successful?
