Yippee! It’s that time of year again. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and The Santaland Diaries are returning to Green Lake. Seattle Public Theater sent us the details:
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Seattle Public Theater (SPT) welcomes back the much-loved holiday favorite The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, December 11th-December 24th. Embrace the adorable and come make merry at the Historic Bathhouse Theater on Green Lake this ho-ho-holiday season.
SPT Artistic and Education Director Shana Bestock directs an all-new cast of Barbara Robinson’s holiday favorite, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. “I love returning to this piece each year,” says Bestock. “I never cast the show the same way twice, and the cast always infuses the play with energy, discovery, transformation, and terrific fun.”
Join SPT as the infamous Herdman kids take over the church pageant and challenge everyone’s traditional notions of Christmas. See how a story can transform us all, even when told be a misfit group of kids in bed sheets. For small and tall elves alike, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a sure-fire hit for the holidays. The show runs December 11th-December 24th.
This year’s show stars SPT favorite Heather Hawkins as Grace along with a tremendous supporting cast including Wendy Woolery, Macall Gordon, Karen Nelsen, Gianni Truzzi, Anna Klein, Francesco D’Aniello, Sofia Truzzi, Asher Delaney-Hanna, Noelle McCabe, Kenyon Meleney, Max Rose, Sophie von Veh, Izabel Mar, Henri Fitzmaurice, Abby Tadlock, Esme DeCoster, Maxx Powers, Duncan Weinland, Tessa Weinland and Kyra Yanny.
The Santaland Diaries
If you are a mature elf, you will want to add tickets to David Sedaris’ The Santaland Diaries starring Andrew Litzky to your stockings this year. Sedaris’ sardonic tale of being an elf returns December 4th to December 24th. For those who like a little spice with their sugar, this hilarious one man show chronicles a man’s experience working as an elf at Macy’s.
In usual Sedaris style, The Santaland Diaries is witty, unpredictable and amazingly true as he cuts through the Christmas spirit to point out what crazy things we do as human beings during the holly-daze. The Santaland Diaries is for mature elves only.
