Kate wrote us with news of a lost dog: RIO is a very skinny, shy, 3 year old male, mostly white with black patches – Italian Greyhound. Looks like a tiny greyhound racing dog. About 8-10 pounds. He jumped the fence in the vicinity of 85th & Meridian North in Seattle around 1:00 a.m. on 11-17. He got spooked by the wind and rain. Rio is skittish and may try to nip if you grab at him. A clothes dryer caused an electrical fire at 6309 Latona Ave NE this afternoon. Flames could not be seen from the street, but smoke filled the entire house and billowed out the top-floor windows, staining part of the exterior of the house black.
