Meet Marshall Longtin. Born and raised in northwest Seattle, he is a Green Lake resident.
Marshall, a Windermere real estate agent, has experience with residential, commercial, and investment properties. He started his real estate career while working in the technology field for a Fortune 100 company. He followed his passion for real estate through residential real estate and home remodels, and in 10 years he has helped hundreds of homeowners successfully buy and sell homes.
Marshall is the man in the know when it comes to Green Lake real estate – Green Lake is his neighborhood, and the focus of his real estate business.
Green Lake is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Seattle. Values have been on an incredible increase. Add this wonderful park to the convenient location to downtown Seattle – often under 10 minutes – makes Green Lake compare to New York City’s Central Park!
Most homes in the area are older craftsman homes with charm and history. The median area home was built in the 1920’s. Most have three to four bedrooms and one bathroom and are around 1,440 square feet.
When older homes are sold many buyers are not averse to spending $100,000 to $200,000 to improve them. When homes are torn down so new homes can be built, the new dwellings adopt a “very traditional” appearance with river-rock facades and natural wood siding.

Marshall has sold homes across the neighborhood, including a 1.2 million property on Kenwood Place N and houses on N 79th St, N 76th St, N 72nd St, Woodlawn Ave N, and Sunnyside Ave N.
What makes Marshall unique is his background: he’s a former contractor. He uses his knowledge of home construction and renovation to help buyers find hidden gems, and to work with sellers who are readying their properties for the market.
Trying to decide whether to move or simply renovate? Marshall provides free consultations to help determine if your home can be remodeled to fit your needs or if you will save money by buying.
Know you want to sell, but not sure what upgrades will give the best return on investment? This is where Marshall’s skills really come to the fore. He provides free home readiness consultations to homeowners who want to know the most cost-effective projects to get their homes ready to sell.
Recently, we got to see Marshall in action as he visited a home that was about to hit the market. Marshall spent over an hour with the seller, walking through her house and thoughtfully pointing out the areas that, if improved, would give the most bang for the buck (interior paint touch-ups, a power-washing of the deck, and some simple landscaping topped the list).
Most impressive? Not the practical (and spot-on) advice, but the kindness with which Marshall approached the client. Selling a home is an emotional time. Marshall was careful to acknowledge all of the positives about the house, and to provide clear, objective advice about the work left to do.
Following a walk-through of a property that is being readied for sale, Marshall sends sellers a detailed report of his recommendations. He includes several photos that he snapped of the property, as well as photos of other properties that serve as examples of finished products.
Marshall Longtin is truly a great neighborhood resource. Thinking of selling but not sure if your house if ready for the market? Contact Marshall here and he’ll get the ball rolling for you.
