1,200 expected to attend Sunday’s Green Lake Gobble & Mashed Potato Munch Off
This Sunday is the 1st annual Green Lake Gobble & Mashed Potato Munch Off
Taking place at Green Lake Park this Sunday, November 22nd, the Green Lake Gobble & Mashed Potato Munch Off will bring over 1,200 event participants to either compete in the 5K run/walk, the free kids dash, or the soon to be a favorite mashed potato competitive eating contest where eight (un)lucky contestants will go head to head for 5 minutes to see who can eat the most mashed potatoes within that time. The winner of the Mashed Potato Munch Off will receive a crown, some money and a lifetime entry into the 5K portion of the event. All event participants have been asked to bring two cans of food each to support the Wallingford based FamilyWorks non-profit food bank.
Event schedule on Sunday, November 22nd:
8:00am – Registration area opens
9:10am – Free Kids Dash starts
9:30am – 5K run & walk starts
10:00am – 5K awards ceremony
