Wazup in nearby neighborhoods?  Yep, time for our weekly round-up! A Fire Strikes Four Greenwood Businesses:  Phinneywood did an amazing job covering the horrible fire that hit Greenwood early Friday morning.  Their coverage began with breaking news updates and video of the fire, and they continue to cover the effects of the fire on the Taproot Theatre, Green Bean Coffeehouse, PAWS Cat City and the community as a whole, as well as to explain the cleanup and wall-stabilization processes.  Information about a relief fund can be found here.  What caused the blaze?  Phinney Ridge Seattle speculates that arson was at…

More car prowls in East Green Lake area

Following on the heels of a series of car prowls at the Green Lake Preschool & Childcare Center (6350 E Green Lake Way N), we’ve now heard word of similar break-ins at the Green Lake School-Age Care Program (GLSA) (6415 1st Ave NE), a before-and after-school program located across the street from Green Lake Elementary School. Josh Maher, the Chair of GLSA’s Board, commented on My Green Lake’s facebook page that cars parked at GLSA have been broken into.  The theif/thieves have been breaking car windows or opening unlocked car doors, usually during the morning.
