Cougars, elk and now … water snakes!

A friend and I were at Green lake at around 7am this morning and were certain there were ‘water snakes’ slithering across the top of the water. Not jumping. Slithering. When the fog burned off and the sun seemed to shine more, they were less.
Needless to say, the sighting of them brought our lake swim to a screeching halt.
Anyone elsssssssse sssssssssssssee anything like thisssssssssss??
